WEIRO®

TREATMENT OF THE WORKING SEAM WITH WEIRO® SPRAYERS

The working seams in the built-in surface hot to cold represent significant weak points and limit the life of the road surface. Nowadays binders are available which provide a safe and watertight pasting of the seams once they are applied onto the seam and reliably prevent a tearing-up of the road surface in the area of the working seam

Bitumen B 200 or other material, also polymer-modified bitumen is used.

Depending on the thickness of the surface layer 200 - 500 g hot bitumen per running meter verge length is provided onto the intermediate seam smoothed locally with a sufficient slope.

As a result, the working seams are tight, prevent the penetration of surface water and can be compared with working seams hot to hot regarding pressure and traction load.

The hot bitumen is applied in an economical way and an exactly dosed quantity with the WEIRO® machine program especially developed for this purpose. For this end, the following variants are offered:

1   WEIRO® TM 600 SKH, a combined automobile working machine for the surface spraying and working seam treatment
1   WEIRO® KSM 100, mountable module in combination with the mounted sprayer HK 1000 PH for the assembly of an existing carrier vehicle
1   WEIRO KSM 100 extension module for the built-on front plate with quick change device to the WEIRO® TM 804 SH or other appropriated carrier vehicles
1   Special selfpropelled machine WEIRO® TM 504 SH for the treatment of the working seam and the spraying of the external verges.

The sprayer unit is the same for all machine types.

It consists of a hydraulically powered pump as well as a full circulation spraying lance or a rotatable and slewable nozzle head.

The quantity applied per running meter verge length is determined by the nozzle equipment, the spraying pressure and the running speed.

The running speed required for the desired quantity to be applied can be learned from a dosing table. In case of an application quantity of for example 300 g/m verge length and a spraying pressure of 0.5 bar the running speed amounts to approx. 20 m/min.

For the extension module as well as for the automobile
machine type TM 504 SKH the binder is applied by an individually adjustable nozzle head. The nozzle head is positioned above the seam to be treated and constantly guided in its position by the machine operator during spraying.

A choking-free work of the nozzle systems is ensured
by the circulation principle. The hot bitumen is always kept in circulation. By a cautious cleaning of the lines and the nozzle with compressed air at the end of every work it is possible to continue work immediately without any troubles after a reheating of the material.
